Training and Education for the Achievement of Children (TEACh)

The mission of TEACh is to motivate and financially assist Ventura County current and former foster youth  in obtaining higher education or training that will prepare them to be contributing members of the community. The TEACh Fund is administered by the Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF).

The scholarship application for TEACh is generally available online at the VCCF website (see link below) by November each year and the deadline for submitting te completed applivation is by early January. Scholarships are awarded each Spring to selected, qualified applicants.  All applications are reviewed by a screening committee to determine the number and amount of individual scholarships.  Each scholarship award will be at least $500.

Scholarship funds may be used for educational expenses including tuition, student fees, books and supplies for college, university, trade/technical school, art school or alternative education programs.  Upon receipt of required paperwork (signed agreement letter and acceptable proof of current enrollment) at VCCF, scholarship funds will be sent directly to the student’s school.  It takes 2-3 weeks for VCCF to process scholarship check requests. Contact Virginia Weber at VCCF if you have questions about the process (805-988-0196, Ext. 119 or e-mail
